Tips On What To Do To Beautify A Drawing

To improve any of your drawings, you'll need to understand and assess this drawing first. It can be unbelievably challenging to be impartial about your own drawing as it is often difficult to find the errors in a drawing you have been gazing at for hours. If you had seen the faults earlier, you would have amended them!

It is therefore not advisable to try to evaluate a drawing just after you have done it or while it is facing you. Arise, explore, drink a cup of coffee and then return and have a look at the drawing and try if you can locate something new. Try placing the drawing away for a few weeks or even months and then return and have a look at it.

Reflect about why you draw. What is the meaning of a good drawing for you? Must it be rational to be good? Or could a drawing that helped you to get rid of some nervousness also be a 'good' drawing?

If you feel as though a drawing just isn't working visually then review the rules of composition (for example) and find if you have missed out anything that might be the key to a successful drawing.

You can also be experienced if you evaluate your own drawings by asking knowledgeable people whom you trust to be honest to evaluate your drawings. See how their remarks match with your thoughts and ask about areas in your drawings that you are unconvinced about and then take their recommendation.

There are some things you should specifically look at to locate for chances to refine an available drawing.

You can be definite that the sections of your page uncovered in drawing are spotless and contain no smudge. You can get rid of any stains with a putty rubber ({also known as a kneadable eraser| also referred as kneadable eraser| also called as kneadable eraser).

If the composition can be bettered by cropping a little (only a little) on one side then try that.

If your sketch is very dark and is not showing a different variety of tones then try to get particular highlights with your putty eraser.

If your drawing is very light then try supplementing with some additional shading.

In an ideal condition, you will find out that you have drawn perfectly and doesn't need any improvements at all.

Then again, if you have a massive list of things at the end you'd need to change to improve your drawing … then, please: Give it a new start... In all sincerity that is probably the best thing you could do as your first sketch will then be considered as a preparatory run and your 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) illustration is almost guaranteed to be much better.

So follow these instructions and the collection of your drawings will not only grow vastly in quantity but also in quality. And also do not forget to keep your drawings stored in a dry and dark place that is without much dust. This ensures you'll enjoy your drawings for a long time.
